The Philip Kennedy Centre offers a range of care and support services in the one location. It is a facility with 170 beds; 158 in high and low care supported living and a 12 bed palliative care hospice.

Set close to picturesque Largs Bay and its jetty, The Philip Kennedy Centre offers residents a seaside environment with beautiful maintained gardens and outdoor areas in which to relax and entertain.

Planned spacious individual en-suite rooms incorporate the latest call bell and entertainment technology. Individualized care is provided 24 hours a day by experienced and highly trained staff. A great variety of lifestyle programs and activities are provided to maintain residents' existing hobbies and encourage new ones.

About Residential Aged Care

In the past, a distinction was drawn between aged care homes that offered "high level care" (which were commonly known as "nursing homes") and those that offered "low level care" (which were commonly known as "hostels"). From 1 July 2014 this distinction has ceased to apply in relation to permanent residential aged care, although it does continue to apply in relation to temporary respite care. Aged care homes can incorporate "extra service", which provides a higher standard of accommodation and services (such as meals) for an additional fee. Aged care homes that are not accredited, but which offer similar care and services, may be referred to as "Supported Living".
