Sandpiper Lodge is situated in a tranquil, semi rural location in the historic coastal town of Goolwa.

This delightful, modern facility is surrounded by rolling hills and stunning district views and characterized by a true feeling of community. The Lodge offers 81 beds for both high and low care residents and memory support services are available.

All rooms are private and spacious with an en-suite, views to the surrounding gardens and the latest in nurse call technology. Communal areas offer large flat screen televisions, luxurious lounge chairs and cosy corners where residents can chat among themselves or entertain family and friends. Qualified nurses are available on site at all times.

About Residential Aged Care

In the past, a distinction was drawn between aged care homes that offered "high level care" (which were commonly known as "nursing homes") and those that offered "low level care" (which were commonly known as "hostels"). From 1 July 2014 this distinction has ceased to apply in relation to permanent residential aged care, although it does continue to apply in relation to temporary respite care. Aged care homes can incorporate "extra service", which provides a higher standard of accommodation and services (such as meals) for an additional fee. Aged care homes that are not accredited, but which offer similar care and services, may be referred to as "Supported Living".
